Fountain City

A very quaint and modest town, Fountain City and its heart-shaped pond provides walking paths and playgrounds within the small city. A straight shot to Downtown Knoxville makes this a cherished town on the outskirts of the big city. Although the town is as up to date as most small cities, it still harbors the look of a small southern town – homes in the area are well established and historic, some dating back to the 1940s. There are internet cafes for those out of towners just looking to get “connected.” You can see shops all along Hotel Road which have located themselves in the historic buildings of Fountain City. If you’re an avid softball player, you’ll enjoy the ballpark which looks like it was right out of a scene from “A League of Their Own” and dropped right in the middle of a beautiful, serene park. While you’re visiting, be sure to enjoy one of the best hamburgers in the South at Litton’s – a Fountain City staple.
